Robert Nathan CORBLE, son of Joseph CORBLE (c. 1837-c. 1893) and Sarah TAYLOR (c. 1839-c. 1919), was born on 22 November 1874 in South Lopham, Norfolk and baptised there on 30 May 1875. At some point between 1891 and 1901 Robert joined the Essex Regiment and was found on the 1901 Census in Colchester barracks, a corporal. He left before 1911 as he was back home by then. Although no service record has been found for Robert, in The Great War he served with the Norfolk Regiment,and was shown as a casualty, dying in 1916.
